When parents decide to enroll their child at STAR Guides, the process can be completed in a few easy steps.  To shorten the enrollment process, parents can speak with an admissions team-member for pre-qualification.

If there is a concern or need for a faster enrollment timeline, contact us at 800-584-4629 and we will do our best to work with the situation you are facing.  Below are the key steps for the process of enrollment.

HOW IT WORKS

The Admissions Process

The admissions process begins the instant a parent or guardian contacts us.  Our admissions team will begin the process by asking questions to better understand and assess the situation.

Some of these questions may include:

  • Understanding of the most recent incident

  • The child's age

  • The child's history of behavioral issues and any previous treatment

  • What is your desired outcome for treatment

Once the decision to enroll is made, the parent or guardian need to fill out the enrollment form; which our clinical staff will then review to ensure a proper fit. Once the clinical team approves the application the parents or guardians will be contacted.

Our admissions department is available to assist you in the application process. We want to assure that you have all of your questions answered and fully understand our program. We have a strong belief that our program changes the lives of the youth who we serve and we look forward to working with you and your child!

Medical Evaluation Clearance

Due to the physically demanding nature of our program, STAR Guides clients are required to submit to a medical evaluation and receive clearance for participation. This evaluation can occur prior to arrival at our program, or we can arrange for the evaluation to occur here.

There are additional criteria that may prevent a client from admission into our program including but not limited to:

  • Severe Mental Impairment (I.Q. below 70)

  • History of Violent Offenses

  • Diabetes

  • Epilepsy

  • Communicable Diseases

  • Severe Asthma

  • Psychosis

Getting to STAR Guides

Transportation is a logistical decision that needs to be made by families. It’s really a matter of safety.  As much as we like to meet parents in person prior to a child’s placement in the program, we understand that sometimes circumstances do not allow this to occur.

Please feel free to speak with our admissions department about the various options for transportation.  Students must be accompanied by an adult or Professional Adolescent Transportation Service.

Our office is located in the heart of St. George, Utah and is easy to find.
